Life Happens
Today I have been on the phone all afternoon making doctor's appointments for Me, Ryan & Parker. I feel like we live at the doctor's anymore. I'm so tired of them NICKEL and DIMING us to death. It's a $15 co-pay every visit we make. Then on top of that it's $15 for each prescription. Ryan went in first for chest x-rays and found he had pneumonia. That visit cost $35. Next I took Tanner in because he had croup and couldn't breath. That visit cost $20 and I opted not to pay for the $45 prescription I didn't think he needed. It's a good thing too, because it turns out he did not need a nebulizer. Then I took Parker in because he had a terrible cough. They weren't sure if he's got terrible allergies, or if it's asthma, or pneumonia. So we decided to start with a prescription that will help pneumonia, then we'll try a nebulizer for asthma. A nebulizer costs $30 plus I have to pay for the medicine that goes in it. That's another $15. So after a $15 co-pay, and two prescriptions we're at a $45 office visit. Oh, but of course if it's neither of those then we are back to the doctor's office for yet another visit and what will probably turn out to be another $45 office visit.
Then just as I'm thinking "Maybe we are finally over all the sickness we can handle Tanner goes and throws up all over me last night. Let's just hope I don't have to take him in to see the doctor again.
Next Ryan needs to get into see the Optometrist, Parker has to see the Audiologist again after failing his hearing test for the second time and on the the ENT. And of course I will be going to see my OBGYN for my yearly check up. So now do you understand my frustration with feeling like we live at the doctors office? Sheesh! I know, I know, I know what you are thinking...it could be worse!
