So I started potty training Parker a few months ago. I am so proud of him because he has done so well and has had very few accidents. He wakes up every morning dry even when he drinks like a camel the night before. I am so blessed I don't have to clean messy sheets. :) Parker was not afraid to pee in public toilets or bushes or trees or anywhere. I didn't worry about taking him out of the house because I knew he would be excited to use other bathrooms. He saw it as an adventure. Well he got the whole potty training thing down great so now he thinks it's okay to pee in our front yard by the tree and every time he needs to go he says "I want to pee in the tree mommy!" Well he also thought it would be fun to pee in other places too.
One day while I was washing blueberries that I had picked that morning Parker was trying to get my attention. So I hear him say "Mom I peed". I looked at him and he was undressed, but his clothes were in the living room and not the bathroom. So I asked him where he peed and he like a proud little boy showed me the heating vent cover that he pulled out and pointed down the hole. I took one look but didn't see any pee down the vent and I couldn't smell anything. So I got a lamp and pointed it down there and what do you know... a small puddle of pee was surrounded by some small toys he must have thrown down there months ago. Well needless to say I was ticked. I took Parker by the ear and walked him into his room as calmly as I could and said "How dare you pee down my vent, that is naughty and you are in Time out until I come and get you". I wanted to beat him. But I kept my cool and decided to call my husband so I could vent my anger. Ryan laughed so hard when I told him what happened and I had to start laughing too. Oh the joys of parenting. My sweet husband came home and cleaned the mess up for me. I was just too upset to take care of it myself. That and I was in the middle of blueberry washing and making banana bread. I love you Ryan for helping me laugh and realize that kids do the darnedest things and we love them anyway.

That's awesome. I probably would have laughed if it were my kid. And then he would do it again because Mommy thought it was funny the first time. I can't wait!!
WOW! I've never heard of that adventure before and I hope I don't have to - at least you were able to laugh about it in the end. What a fun story to torture him with later. I'm sure I'll have something like it when Jacob starts potty training.
I needed to read this today; I came close to beating a few kids myself.
So funny, I laughed so hard reading this. Crazy stuff happens when we have kids.
