So I have some tragic news. Okay it's not that tragic, but it's sad to me. I dropped my camera and broke it while I was jumping in the pool to save my son from drowning. Parker was playing in the shallow end of the pool at my Uncle Mike's house in Utah. While I was taking his picture the toy he was playing with started floating away. Well he decided to go after it and though the water wasn't that deep he went under and wasn't coming back up. So I threw my camera to my mom who wasn't ready for it and jumped in to play the hero and rescue Parker. Well the camera hit the ground and hasn't worked since. Parker fortunately was fine. I would much rather save my son then my camera. So we are in the market for a new camera. I really want something small that I can take with me anywhere and won't feel like it's so bulky and heavy to carry around. I am open to any suggestions. I want something that takes good pictures and video. Of course I don't know a whole lot about camera's so if you have had a camera that you really love or would recommend I'm all ears.

Hooray for Parker being OK! Good job jumping in so fast. That stinks about the camera though. This is just an opportunity for you to get a better one that does more things. Video cameras are always nice. I kinda wish I'd gotten one. But I like my Cannon Power Shot A560. I'm sure there are better cameras out there though.
